Product Description

Product Description

**Radiation-resistant glass** is a specialized type of glass designed to withstand exposure to ionizing radiation, such as gamma rays, X-rays, and neutron radiation. This glass is engineered to maintain optical transparency while offering effective protection against radiation. Its high resistance to radiation-induced changes, such as browning or degradation, makes it ideal for use in environments like nuclear power plants, medical facilities (e.g., X-ray rooms), research labs, and even space exploration.

One key feature of radiation-resistant glass is its ability to incorporate materials like cerium oxide, which helps prevent the glass from becoming discolored or losing transparency when exposed to high radiation levels. This type of glass is crucial in environments where visibility and safety are important, such as hot cells, glove boxes, and radiation shielding windows

Applications of radiation-resistant glass include medical imaging rooms, nuclear reactors, and research facilities where radiation exposure is frequent, ensuring protection without compromising visibility.

Product Parameters

 Test Conditions:

1. Radiation Source: Co-60 Gamma Radiation Source
2. Radiation Activity: 5.6 × 10^14 Bq
3. Distance from sample center: 15 cm, height from the platform: 58 cm
4. Measurement of absorbed dose rate at irradiation location:
   1) Fricke Dosimeter as per National Standard [2002] No. 101, Measurement Range: 40-400 Gy, Uncertainty: U=2% (k=2)
   2) Measuring instrument: Cary-4G UV-Visible Spectrophotometer
5. Sample irradiation:
   The sample was placed at the selected irradiation field (D = 2.65 × 10^-2 C/kg•s) and irradiated for 27 hours, with a cumulative dose of 2.58 × 10^3 C/kg (10^5R).

Test Results:
-After irradiation with a cumulative dose of 2.58 × 10^3 C/kg, the measurement of radiation stability is shown in the table below:

Sample Thickness (mm) Before Irradiation (τv) After Irradiation (τv) Δτv × 100%
KINZEM K709             10 0.870 0.865 0.5

Note:Measurement uncertainty 1% (k=1).
